Rebeccas paintings seek to reflect the absurd, enigmatic, and often awkward elements of human experience. The figures in her paintings are victims of circumstance; they are often caught in vulnerable or uncomfortable situations. Her paintings invite reflection on cultural norms and expectations, gender dynamics, and feelings surrounding futility or inadequacy. While evoking an underlying sense of disquiet, these paintings dont draw conclusions, but instead present narrative possibilities that ask to be considered.
